Ramsingh Charlie Review: Kumud Mishra And Divya Dutta Starrer Based On The Circus Of Life Will Leave You Teary-Eyed
Read the review of the film Ramsingh Charlie directed by Nitin Kakkar and features Kumud Mishra and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles. The movie based on the ruthless circus of life filled with hardships and challenges has its heart in the right place
Ramsingh Charlie, the lead character in the film, was born in the circus where his father worked for years. Ramsingh Charlie follows his father's footsteps, who was a salaried employee with the circus' Masterji. He has only known Jango Circus for years and literally is not aware of the world outside. When the master of the ring decides to pull down the tent as it’s no longer sustainable, Ramsingh Charlie’s boss warns him about the life outside the circus. With the circus closing down, Kumud Mishra as Ramsingh Charlie tries his best but experiences first-hand difficulties as he makes great efforts to find shelter for his family, a job and make ends meet.
Kumud Mishra manages to bring his character of Ramsingh Charlie, an impersonator of the late Charlie Chaplin to life with his performance. Ramsingh Charlie’s love and respect for the character of Charlie Chaplin that he impersonated in the circus is beyond words. Divya Dutta as Kajri is the supporting wife to Ramsingh Charlie and their little moments together are beautiful. The film is warm, bittersweet and brings out the reality of what the circus means to the artistes performing and putting up a show. The film sheds light on the issues that many unemployed circus artists face after they head out in the real world, from being called freaks to lots more.
Nitin Kakkar’s Ramsingh Charlie’s screenplay is predictable. The background score of the movie and the music keeps one hooked. Apart from the interesting background score perfectly in sync with the emotion of the movie, the circus-y costumes bring everything to life.
The film Ramsingh Charlie is a sweet film talking about the circus of life. It is a serious attempt at bringing back those times watching circus with the family, reminding people what they’re missing out on.
